Arkemis is downloadable and working now, and its feature set is genuinely incomplete. Subscribing turns Pro on immediately and starts the monthly billing cycle the same day — there is no trial and no deferred first charge.

What you pay for is what the app does today, not what is planned. The capability list marks every item as either working now or not in this release, so early access is a decision you make with the real state of the product in front of you.

Two meters, one subscription, and no ambiguity about what counts against which.

The day you subscribe. Early access describes the state of the product, not a discount or a deferred charge: there is no trial period and no postponed start date, so the first charge is taken at checkout and the subscription renews monthly from that date.
